SEE Business Solutions has created this program – the 3am Project – to help create awareness, provide support and improve personal well-being in the construction industry.
The name derived from noticing the number of builders up at 3am with anxiety worrying about their projects, cashflow and overall business operation. When we started researching this serious issue, we discovered that across the country we loose a construction worker to suicide every second day- that’s more than 190 people per year. This is someone’s partner, father, son, brother, sister or mother and a scarily high statistic.
With these facts in mind and the stigma in the industry around men reaching out and seeking help, it becomes increasingly important to tackle this problem head on. Most people that speak out and receive treatment recover completely or learn how to manage their well-being, but many men miss out on this life-saving support. The goal of the 3AM project is to change the culture and provide better support for people in the construction industry so we can help change these statistics.
